Job summary

Circle Group, an established international law firm based in Leeds, seeks a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to lead our security strategy. This hybrid role requires three days per week in the office and focuses on threat detection, incident response, and continuous improvement across our security stack.

Salary up to £70,000 per year with strong benefits. You will work with SIEM/EDR, Azure, and AI tools to protect client data within a regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years hands-on SOC experience including threat detection, incident response and continuous improvement.
• Solid working knowledge of SIEM, EDR and vulnerability management platforms.
• Strong Azure expertise and experience using AI tools (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT) in daily security work.
• Experience in legal or regulated sectors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and rollout security controls across our infrastructure.
• Detect, investigate, and respond to incidents and vulnerabilities as they arise.
• Run risk assessments, audits and pen tests, then remediate findings.
• Write and maintain security policies, procedures and disaster recovery plans that meet regulatory standards.
• Act as the trusted voice on cyber security, briefing stakeholders and leadership.
• Manage external vendor and partner relationships.
• Champion security awareness through training across the business.
• Monitor emerging threats and changes to regulatory compliance in the legal sector.
