Job summary

The Princess Grace Hospital, part of HCA UK, is seeking a Senior Sterile Services Technician to join the CSSD team. You will ensure timely, safe and efficient provision of sterile instruments and surgical trays to theatres, supporting exceptional patient care.

As a senior team member, you’ll mentor technicians, uphold infection control standards and ensure devices are processed to the highest quality. You will work 13-hour shifts across weekdays and Saturdays on a 6-on/7-off rotation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a sterile services technician, preferably in a senior role.
• Infection control principles applied to patient care and devices.
• Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS).
• Experience with external audits and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day washing, inspection, packing and sterilisation and cover out-of-hours when required.
• Ensure reprocessing of invasive devices adheres to SOPs and quality systems.
• Lead shifts, mentor staff, conduct inductions and training.
• Investigate NCRs and implement corrective actions.
• Complete handovers and respond to staff and clinical queries.
• Monitor equipment, stock, QC procedures and escalate issues.
• Collaborate with clinicians and ward staff to select reusable devices.
