Job summary

The Princess Grace Hospital in London is seeking a Senior Sterile Services Technician to manage and improve CSSD activities. You will oversee washing, inspection, packing, and sterilisation while ensuring patient safety and compliance with quality standards.

You will lead shift teams, train staff, investigate non-conformances, and collaborate with clinical leads to optimise device reprocessing and equipment QC.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a sterile services technician.
• Strong understanding of infection control principles in patient care.
• Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and SOP adherence.
• Experience attending external audits and implementing corrective actions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day management of washing, inspection, packing, and sterilisation areas; take charge out of hours/weekends.
• Apply reprocessing standards for invasive devices and ensure SOP compliance.
• Lead and support shift teams, mentor technicians and apprentices, and provide training.
• Investigate NCRs, implement corrective actions, and report findings.
• Coordinate with nurses, department heads, and ward reps to select reusable devices.

**Senior Sterile Services Technician****The Princess Grace Hospital****Full Time, 37.5 hrs/week****13hr shifts (7am to 8pm during the week and Saturdays 8am to 6pm), working 6 on 7 off****Permanent contract****Competitive salary + excellent benefits**We’re looking for a Senior Sterile Services Technician to join the CSSD Department at The Princess Grace Hospital. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely, safe and efficient provision of sterile instruments, surgical trays and medical supplies to theatres and departments across the hospital, supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care.As a senior member of the team, you will provide day-to-day guidance and support to colleagues, promote best practice across the department, and contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
