Job summary

The Princess Grace Hospital in London is recruiting a Senior Sterile Services Technician to join the CSSD Department. The role covers washing, inspection, packing and sterilisation of instruments and medical devices to theatres and departments across the hospital.

You will lead shift teams, provide training, and ensure adherence to SOPs and quality management systems. A strong background in infection control and external audits is essential, with good communication and computer literacy.

• Extensive experience as a sterile services technician, ideally in a senior role.
• Strong understanding of infection prevention and control principles.
• Experience with quality systems and audits.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day management of washing, inspection, packing and sterilisation areas.
• Lead shift teams, mentor technicians and conduct inductions.
• Investigate NCRs and implement corrective actions.
• Complete hand-overs and respond to staff and clinical queries.
• Coordinate with clinicians to select appropriate reusable devices.

In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely, safe and efficient provision of sterile instruments, surgical trays and medical supplies to theatres and departments across the hospital, supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care.As a senior member of the team, you will provide day-to-day guidance and support to colleagues, promote best practice across the department, and contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
