Job summary

Mercury is seeking a CSA Engineer/Site Engineer with at least five years of experience to oversee on-site safety, QA, and coordination of CSA packages. You will work closely with the Safety Advisor, Package Manager, and subcontractors to drive programme delivery in a fast-paced construction environment.

You will manage day-to-day site operations, cost tracking, look-ahead schedules, and weekly reporting while ensuring compliance with safety standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum five years’ CSA Engineering, Site Engineering, or related construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site operations.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within fast-paced construction environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support site safety management with the Mercury Safety Advisor, including setup and close-out of the project safety file.
• Support QA activities with the CSA Package Manager, including QA documentation setup and close-out.
• Maintain familiarity with project programmes and coordinate with other trades and package leads.
• Manage and supervise day-to-day site operations for CSA packages.
• Support cost management for CSA works, including direct labour, subcontractors, plant and materials.
• Monitor material deliveries and goods receipting processes.
• Assist with the management and assessment of variations within assigned work areas.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and monitor progress against programme requirements.
• Attend weekly meetings with subcontractors and maintain records of discussions and actions.
• Manage the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system and ensure weekly punch lists progress.
• Submit direct labour and subcontractor hours for central reporting and tracking.
• Attend site meetings, project reviews, and handover meetings as required.
• Support close-out of deliverables including O&M Manuals, punch lists, safety files, and QA documentation.
• Implement and maintain weekly look-ahead schedules for coordination with trades and stakeholders.
• Produce weekly supervisor reports highlighting progress, risks, and delays.
• Identify and report project risks within Mercury’s control or subcontractor activities.
• Coordinate material deliveries in line with programme requirements and monitor delivery performance.
• Maintain a weekly photographic record of project progress.
• Promote compliance with company policies, project procedures, client requirements, and safety standards.
• Support project handover activities and contribute to successful project delivery.
• Carry out any other duties associated with the role.
