We are seeking a Senior Crisis Practitioner to join the South Glasgow Mental Health Crisis Team as part of our multidisciplinary team. An up-to-date registration with your professional body is essential.
The role involves supporting individuals with complex mental health needs in crisis, providing intensive care and treatment at home as an alternative to hospital admission. You will also collaborate with inpatient services to facilitate early discharges.
This position operates under the supervision of a Band 7 Crisis Team Leader, including formal line management supervision. Responsibilities include ongoing risk assessments and liaising with stakeholders such as GPs, CMHT, MHAU, Specialist Services, and third-sector organizations.
We value enthusiastic candidates motivated to positively impact patients' lives, demonstrating effective communication and teamwork skills. Supervisory duties include overseeing junior staff and student nurses, evaluating their practice, and conducting annual appraisals.
Applicants should have significant post-registration experience as a Registered Mental Nurse or Occupational Therapist, with proven risk management skills in mental health. A relevant mental health qualification is required.
This is a full-time, permanent role (37 hours/week), operating over 7 days with hours from 0900 to 2000 on weekdays and 0900 to 1700 on weekends, with long days available.
Requirements include PVG scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland check and a current driving license. Pre-employment checks will follow NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde policies.
