About this Opportunity

An exciting opportunity to join our team in LBG’s Services & Public Sector Credit team as a Senior Credit Officer. You’ll play a leading role in helping us drive revenue growth and maintain an appropriate risk appetite to limit credit losses. As a Senior Credit Officer, you will shape the strategic direction of the team and deliver its core objectives.

You’ll lead a team of Senior Credit Analysts and Credit Officers responsible for the credit management of a portfolio including Higher Education, Charities, and corporate clients. Your daily tasks may include:

  • Leading discussions with originators, relationship managers, product partners, and Senior Sanctioners to shape credit proposals, set credit risk appetite, and balance risk and reward.
  • Negotiating and evaluating complex financing proposals to meet client needs while protecting the bank’s interests.
  • Sanctioning credit proposals within your delegated lending authority.
  • Working in a high-profile, professional environment committed to diversity and inclusion.
  • Line managing direct reports and supporting their career development, coaching colleagues across CIB Corporate Credit.
  • Setting and shaping the strategy for your asset class or portfolio, influencing CIB Corporate Credit’s overall strategy.
  • Coordinating projects with key partners to improve processes and workflows.

What you’ll need:
  • Experience in credit or sector-specific skills.
  • Sound judgment and decisiveness.
  • Strong financial and non-financial analytical skills, critical analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of documentary terms.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, numeracy, and accuracy.
  • Experience in team leadership and line management.
  • Effective communication skills for all levels, including complex issues with Senior Sanctioners.
