Senior Credit Controller / Senior Collections Advisor

Position Details

Reports to: Debt Enforcement Manager

Location: Leicester LE3 5BZ

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week

Salary: £28,000 basic, dependent on experience, plus up to £5k bonus

Role Overview

As a Senior Credit Controller / Senior Collections Advisor, you will assist business customers with their payment options and support our field-based partners visiting customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate within a responsible and regulated environment
• Evaluate customers’ ability and intent to pay
• Make court applications via phone
• Make decisions to protect the business from further debt
• Prepare field-based partners for enforcement tasks
• Engage with customers to resolve barriers to payment
• Record accurate notes for future reference
• Escalate complex cases to management

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in collections, enforcement/warrant preferred
• Calm, assertive, and professional communication skills
• Decisive under pressure with good judgment
• Commercial mindset balancing objectives with customer outcomes
• Ability to identify genuine payment difficulties and vulnerabilities
• Excellent verbal communication
• Team-oriented, motivated, resilient, and detail-oriented
