Job summary

Cera Care Ltd in Colchester is recruiting a Senior Credit Controller on a Fixed Term Contract for 6 months to strengthen the team through a period of focused debt resolution activity.

The Senior Credit Controller will work as part of a capable and experienced team, taking responsibility for a customer portfolio and ensuring timely payment for all Local Authority, NHS and Private Client accounts, with particular focus on triaging and resolving disputes and some aged invoices in an allocated

Qualifications

• Significant credit control / accounts receivable experience in Health and Social Care or NHS-related finance.
• Confident dealing with Local Authority and NHS contacts on invoicing and funding.
• Strong finance and analytical skills to reconcile accounts and resolve disputes.
• Proven track record managing a complex customer portfolio and reducing aged debt.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across Operations, Invoicing and commissioners.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently in a fixed-term assignment.
• Confident user of MS Excel and finance/billing systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as a credible contact for Local Authority and NHS bodies to resolve queries.
• Coordinate with Local Authorities, NHS and private clients to collect balances.
• Lead triaging of complex disputed invoices and drive actions to unblock payment.
• Process credit notes and amended invoices.
• Reconcile customer accounts.
• Monitor unallocated cash and allocate receipts.
• Manage Direct Debit and card payment processes.
• Report to Credit Control Manager on key account issues.
• Host and attend debt meetings with Operational Managers.
• Aim to maximise cash collection and escalate issues when necessary.
