The Role:

  • Evaluates commercial loan requests by reviewing applicants' credit histories and analyzing financial statements in order to approve or deny loan applications.

What You Will Do:

  • Reviews the credit history, profitability and liquidity of clients to assess the risk level involved in credit extension or money lending.
  • Consults with customers to verify financial and credit transactions; responds to customer inquiries and resolves customer complaints.
  • Communicates with credit associations and other relevant authorities about the credit history of customers.
  • Analyzes financial data to determine customers' financial status and the expected profitability of commercial loans; recommends approval or denial of loan applications.

What You Can Demonstrate:

  • Finance and Accounting: Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Collateral Management: Knowledge of the concepts, objectives, tools and methods used in collateral management; ability to implement and develop collateral strategies for risk control and profit management.
  • Credit Analysis and Verification: Knowledge of credit analysis and verification; ability to utilize tools and techniques to determine the credit-worthiness of an applicant.
  • Financial Statement Analysis: Knowledge of financial statement and balance sheet; ability to analyze financial statement data and determine the credit-worthiness of a business enterprise

They should also be skilled in financial modelling, business planning, and performance analysis to support strategic initiatives and achieve commercial objectives.
  • Analytical Skills:
    The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical abilities, with a proven track record of diving deep into numbers and data to uncover insights and drive decision-making. This involves proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, the ability to interpret complex datasets, and the skill to translate data findings into actionable business strategies. The candidate should be adept at identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies in data, and using this information to inform business decisions and optimise performance.
  • Leadership Skills:
    Proven previous leadership experience in successfully leading, developing, and motivating teams to achieve objectives; may be satisfied with a team lead, project lead, or supervisory experience will be an advantage.

Job Title: Senior Credit Analyst

Salary: £45,066.00 - £58,585.00 (Depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent.
Hours: In office Monday - Friday, full time 37.5 hours.
