Job summary

Jobtailor in London is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop and maintain the Civica Polling Station application and related election software. You will work across .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript/TypeScript and cloud platforms, collaborating with peers to implement robust features and APIs.

The role requires strong unit testing, code reviews, documentation, version control and a proactive, autonomous mindset. Travel to London may be required monthly.

Job description

Work primarily on the Civica Polling Station (CPS) application
Develop new and innovative public cloud products
Maintain existing Election-related software
Investigate, fix and test software problems
Analyse requirements and perform technical impact analysis
Architect, design and implement software solutions
Design and code new functionality
Provide 3rd line application support within agreed service levels
Troubleshoot and resolve support issues
Review peers’ code
Perform unit testing
Write documentation and comment code
Maintain proper version control
Supervise and mentor junior staff
Ensure software quality and compliance with corporate test processes and ISO 9001

Requirements

Analyse new requirements and provide impact analysis addressing technical design and identifying individual tasks
Architect, design and implement solutions to meet requirements
Design and code new functionality
Communicate technical details impacting fulfilment of requirements
Iterative software development and responsiveness to constructive feedback
Provide 3rd line application support and implement bug fixes
Develop and maintain high-quality code
Troubleshoot and solve support issues as directed by the Development Lead and/or Technical Architect
