Job Description

Turner & Townsend has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cost Manager to join our UK Real Estate team, guiding clients and their professional teams on iconic projects across the UK.

Main Purpose of Role

• Manage projects as a client-facing representative, from feasibility through cost planning, procurement, tendering, and post-contract delivery, building strong relationships with consultants and clients.
• Contribute to our digital transformation of cost management using industry-leading digital software.
• Work across sectors, including city centre developments, manufacturing, logistics, and residential schemes, in both public and private sectors.

Scope

Handle commissions typically ranging from £10-£50m, leading on projects with appropriate support depending on complexity. Support Directors on high-profile projects.

Role Objectives

• Perform pre- and post-contract duties, including cost estimates, procurement, tendering, contract administration, variation, and final accounts.
• Conduct feasibility studies and produce final cost plans.
• Manage tendering and procurement activities, including pre-qualification, tender analysis, and contract documentation.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and valuations.
• Engage with clients and consultants throughout project stages.
• Manage cost variances, change control, cost risk analysis, and value engineering, including final account negotiations.
• Mentor junior team members, sharing expertise to develop the team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering cost management/quantity surveying services across full project lifecycle.
• Professional qualification (RICS or similar preferred).
• Degree or HNC qualification.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
