Job summary

RLB International is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to lead cost planning and quantity surveying on diverse projects across residential, commercial and mixed-use sectors. Based in Reading with hybrid working, you will report to the Cost Management department and play a key role in delivering value for clients.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Quantity Surveying (MRICS desirable), have strong pre-and post-contract experience, and proven ability to manage budgets, tender processes and

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
• MRICS or membership of a relevant professional body
• Experience in Pre-Construction cost planning and estimating
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
• Strong technical delivery and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned duties efficiently according to processes and procedures
• Comply with established Commercial, Procurement, Contractual strategies
• Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
• Cost Planning including preparation of indicative cost budgets and appraisals and preparation of elemental cost plans
• Running a competitive tender process including managing queries from tendering contractors
• Pre and Post Contract Quantity Surveying
• Supporting formal dispute resolution process and contract close out strategy as required

Role Overview

This role presents an excellent prospect for a proactive individual to take responsibility for providing all core Quantity Surveying services on several interesting projects, for a wide range of clients. Our team work across many sectors including residential (private & public sector), commercial, mixed-use, retail, leisure, higher education and more.

Role Responsibilities

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
• MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body

Experience

• Experience in Pre-Construction cost planning and estimating
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
• Strong technical delivery experience
• Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
• Strong Feasibility and cost planning experience
• Pre and Post contract experience of a range of schemes
• Experience of providing procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract services
• Stakeholder management with a clear focus on developing client accounts
• A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
