Produce and maintain accurate cost and forecasting information aligned to the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) or Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Act as the lead point of contact for Cost and Forecasting management within the nominated Programme/Area. Maintain the Cost and Forecasting portfolio to ensure it accurately reflects the current project position. Analyse cost and forecasting data to identify trends, issues, uncertainties and opportunities. Review and challenge significant issues that may impact programme objectives. Support scenario planning, issue and opportunity reviews and Cost and Forecasting-focused workshops. Ensure Cost and Forecasting information supports effective prioritisation and decision-making.
Ensure Cost and Forecasting data is accurately maintained within relevant systems, including EcoSys and SAP. Provide assurance that Cost and Forecasting reports are delivered accurately and within defined reporting cycles. Provide commentary on key time-related drivers and performance issues. Produce and present accurate, insightful project controls information for Programme Reviews, Board Meetings and Portfolio Risk Reviews. Ensure the integrity and consistency of Cost and Forecasting information through appropriate assurance checks. Manage and verify information within Power BI dashboards and identify opportunities for improvement.
Work collaboratively with wider Integrated Project Controls disciplines to ensure Cost and Forecasting is effectively integrated with schedule, risk, change and other project data. Work with project controls managers and risk leads to understand the relationship between cost, forecasting, risks and opportunities.
Provide day-to-day direction and guidance to Cost Engineers and Trainee Cost Engineers. Lead Cost and Forecasting management and software-specific training for Programme/Area teams, the PM community and apprentices. Facilitate Cost and Forecasting discussions with stakeholders at all levels, including senior and executive leadership.
Essential Experience working within a Project Management environment. At least 10 years' senior-level experience within a Cost and Forecasting team. Experience working in a complex, highly regulated industry, ideally nuclear or energy. Proven experience of active integration management and senior-level influencing across multiple stakeholders. Expert knowledge of Cost and Forecasting, including the tools and techniques used to provide project insight and assess performance. Understanding of the integration between Cost and Forecasting and wider Project Controls disciplines, including Planning, Risk and Change. Expertise in, or equivalent experience with, relevant software including Microsoft Office, Teamcenter, EcoSys, Power BI and SAP.
