Employment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Engineer to join a leading consultancy delivering major nuclear and energy infrastructure projects. You will be part of a high-performing Project Controls team, responsible for cost management, forecasting and performance reporting to ensure robust financial control.

The role requires turning complex project data into actionable insights, with strong Excel skills and experience on major capital projects in regulated industries.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost control for major capital projects.
• Proven ability to produce reliable cost forecasts and reports.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate insights to stakeholders in regulated industries.
• Experience within nuclear, energy or infrastructure sectors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost management and cost control activities across the project lifecycle.
• Produce accurate cost reporting, EVM analysis, EAC and ETC forecasts.
• Monitor expenditure, commitments, accruals and contractor cost data for trends and variances.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Commercial teams and Supply Chain to support governance and change control.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.

Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Cost Engineer to join a leading consultancy delivering major nuclear and energy infrastructure projects. Working within a high-performing Project Controls team, you'll be responsible for providing robust cost management, forecasting and performance reporting, ensuring complex capital projects are delivered with accurate financial control and effective commercial governance.

This position would suit a Cost Engineer with experience on major capital projects who enjoys turning complex project data into meaningful insights. It will appeal to someone with strong analytical skills, excellent Excel capability and a passion for cost control, forecasting and stakeholder engagement within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, energy or infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cost management and cost control activities, maintaining project budgets, forecasts and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) throughout the project lifecycle
• Produce accurate cost reporting, Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis, Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC) forecasts
• Monitor project expenditure, commitments, accruals and contractor cost data, identifying trends, variances and opportunities for improvement
• Work closely with Project Managers, Commercial teams and Supply Chain partners to support project governance, change control and performance reporting
• Present cost performance, forecasting and recommendations to project stakeholders while supporting continuous improvement across project controls processes
