We are seeking a Senior Cost Controller (Senior Project Controls Engineer Grade) to join our expanding Infrastructure-Defence team based in Bristol and the South West.

This role involves Controls & Performance duties on several high-profile Infrastructure Projects/Programmes. It offers opportunities to innovate, collaborate, and learn within our experienced Cost Control community and wider network.

Key Deliverables

• Collaborate with project teams as part of a wider cost control team or independently, supporting experienced professionals. Responsibilities include:
• Tailoring Cost Control approaches to meet client needs and align with best practices.
• Promoting the importance of Cost Control within project teams.
• Implementing and maintaining cost control systems to track budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
• Developing project Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) and aligning budgets with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
• Mapping and integrating cost estimates to WBS for accurate budget tracking.
• Building relationships with Finance, Commercial, and Project Managers to ensure aligned project information.
• Leading accruals production to reflect actual work costs accurately and timely.
• Developing reporting tools and generating regular cost reports, including earned value analysis.
• Providing cost insights to support project status reporting and performance management.
• Training and mentoring team members and clients on cost control practices.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Proven experience in Cost Control.
• Knowledge of cost performance reporting and forecasting techniques.
• Experience leading Cost Control Assurance activities.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress, forecasting, and reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Familiarity with at least one Cost Control software is desirable.
• Understanding of how Project Controls disciplines interact.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts is desirable.
• Willingness to travel to client sites across the region.
