Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Kingdom seeks a Cost Assurance Consultant – Cost Verification and Assurance to support large-scale infrastructure projects. You will verify costs, audit data, and assess commercial control across contracts, working with client teams and supply chains on complex schemes across infrastructure, transport and energy markets.

Role requires contract interpretation, data analysis, and strong reporting skills, with experience in a client or secondee environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering cost and commercial assurance/audit activities.
• Ability to interpret contracts and apply NEC3/4 principles.
• Experience analysing large data sets and working with different costing systems.
• Ability to interrogate data sets and present decision-useful outputs.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience in working within a client organisation or secondee arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost verification, audit and assurance across large-scale complex infrastructure projects.
• Evaluate cost data against contractual/commercial principles.
• Analyse supplier cost data to identify patterns, risks and opportunities.
• Conduct payroll audits and data sampling for targeted reviews.
• Assess cost capture and commercial management processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve commercial governance and cost control.
• Interpret NEC4 contract documents and advise clients accordingly.
• Collaborate with client teams and supply chain to gather documentation and data.
• Deliver high-quality assurance reports and present findings to senior stakeholders.
• Support outputs and recommendations to clients and their wider supply chain.
• Assist with integration of digital tools for data analysis and reporting.
