Job summary

Clark Wood Limited is seeking a Corporate Tax Senior / Assistant Manager to lead a growing corporate tax portfolio in the Thames Valley. You will manage end-to-end compliance, deliver advisory projects, and act as a key point of contact for clients and internal partners.

This role offers mentoring opportunities, exposure to SME and OMB clients, and the chance to develop leadership and client-management skills within a supportive tax team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of corporate tax experience, ideally in practice.
• ACA/CTA qualified (or equivalent).
• Strong technical corporate tax knowledge for SME/OMB clients.
• Proactive self-starter, able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end corporate tax compliance cycle. Oversee the preparation and review of corporation tax returns for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Support and deliver a broad range of advisory engagements, including group restructures, R&D claims, international and UK tax planning, loss utilisation, and transactional tax support.
• Provide clear, practical, and commercially-focused tax advice to SMEs, OMBs, and larger corporates.
• Mentor and develop junior team members, reviewing work and guiding the next generation of tax talent.
• Build and strengthen trusted client relationships, attending meetings and identifying opportunities.
