Falkirk Council is seeking a Senior Cook to join the Facilities (Soft FM) team, supporting school kitchens across the Falkirk area. Based at Bowhouse Primary School, you will plan menus, cook meals and supervise Catering Assistants while managing rotas and on-the-job training.

You will ensure health, safety and allergen compliance, manage stock and budgets, and use Council systems for cash handling. Term-time, 30 hours weekly, Mon–Fri 8:00–14:30 with a 30-minute break, permanent and part-time.

Qualifikationen

• Proven leadership and oversight in a supervisory kitchen or catering role.
• Ability to train and develop Catering Assistants and manage rotas.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and allergen control regulations.

Do you thrive in a busy kitchen, enjoy leading a team, and take pride in delivering nutritious meals that make a real difference? We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Cook to join our Facilities (Soft FM) team, supporting school communities across the Falkirk Council area.

• Provide meals that meet nutritional standards and dietary needs

What We're Looking For:

• City & Guilds 706 Part 1 and 2 (or equivalent)
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Experience in a similar supervisory kitchen or catering environment
• Knowledge of current Health & Safety and food safety regulations
• Basic numeracy, literacy, and IT confidence
• A mentoring approach to team development

The Role:

• Location: Bowhouse Primary School
• Hours: 30 hours per week
• Days: Monday to Friday, 8am to 2.30pm (1/2 hour break unpaid)
• Contract: Term Time, Part Time, Permanent
• Line Management: Responsible for a team of Catering Assistants
• Reporting to: Building Services Officer
