Job summary

Thermo Systems LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Controls Design Engineer (Preconstruction) to lead the design, development and delivery of complex control system solutions across BMS, PMS, SCADA and OT environments. You will support bid reviews, design assurance and governance with Sales, PMO and Integration teams.

This role combines technical delivery with preconstruction involvement, driving improvements and maintaining high engineering standards on mission-critical projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in controls engineering, automation, or design engineering.
• Experience on complex industrial, life sciences, data centre, or mission-critical projects.
• Experience across design, integration, commissioning and/or preconstruction phases.
• Ability to review technical specifications and project scope.

Responsibilities

• Lead IFC Draft and IFC Final page-turns, ensuring actions and design comments are tracked through closure.
• Develop and review control system architectures, software, control narratives, points lists, network architecture and technical documentation.
• Configure and develop PLC and associated controls platforms including Rockwell, Siemens and Schneider.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and system integration activities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align scope, schedule, and deliverables.
• Identify risks, constraints, or scope changes early in the project lifecycle.
