Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and 5+ years designing, programming, integrating, testing, or commissioning industrial automation and controls.
  • Strong PLC and HMI development experience across complex systems.
  • Hands-on experience with servo motion, VFDs, sensors, industrial networks, and machine-safety technologies.
  • Ability to read, create, and update electrical schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting automated equipment through debug, FAT, installation, start-up, commissioning, and SAT.
  • Talent for translating customer challenges into technical requirements, experiments, and practical concepts.
  • Clear communication, sound judgement, and adaptability as requirements evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and test controls for industrial automation and packaging equipment.
  • Integrate primary machinery with third-party systems and optimise sequences and cycle times.
  • Apply machine-safety requirements and configure controllers, guarding interfaces, light curtains, and interlocks.
  • Support debug, FAT, installation, SAT, and start-up; iterate until robust performance is achieved.
  • Transfer technology to reusable architectures, software modules, and implementation guides.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering Operations to deploy pilots and first installations.
