Job summary

Gore Street Capital seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to design, build and commission an edge controller for its battery energy storage platform. You will own the controls workstream end‑to‑end, interfacing with EMS, PLCs and cloud data flows, while scaling the system across the fleet and across markets.

You will join the Technical team, collaborate with analytics, EMS providers and operators, and travel for testing and commissioning as needed. Hybrid work with on‑site London presence is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, control or systems engineering.
• Experience in real‑time/industrial control engineering with IEC 61131-3.
• Experience with Modbus TCP/IP and edge‑to‑cloud data movement.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the edge device hardware with off‑the‑shelf components and write controls software onto it.
• Commission hardware on live equipment and enable quick, repeatable rollout across the fleet.
• Develop real‑time control logic (frequency droop / EFR / dynamic containment) to IEC 61131-3 on a PLC or industrial controller.
• Publish real‑time telemetry and power setpoints to the plant EMS over Modbus TCP/IP.
• Ensure information security and ISO27001 alignment from edge to platform.
