Job summary

e-STORAGE, part of Canadian Solar, designs and deploys utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems to accelerate the world’s renewable energy transition. As a Controls Engineer, you’ll help deploy projects across North America, from design reviews to commissioning and long-term operation.

You’ll collaborate with internal engineering teams, EPCs, utilities, vendors, and customers to verify control philosophies, validate network architectures, troubleshoot communications, and support site

Qualifications

• Educational background in Controls or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years experience with industrial control systems in power/renewable environments.
• Experience with Modbus, DNP3, TCP/IP protocols.

Responsibilities

• Review project contracts and vendor agreements for controls requirements.
• Validate design packages and network designs.
• Maintain technical documentation in SharePoint and coordinate with vendors.
• Develop batch scripts and automation tools for data collection.
• Serve as a technical resource for customers, EPCs, utilities, and project teams.
• Troubleshoot network and communications issues in VPN environments.
• Support site commissioning activities and provide controls expertise.
• Ensure activities comply with engineering standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
