Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Senior Control Systems Verification Engineer for a 12‑month contract based in Derby or Solihull, with hybrid working arrangement. You will define verification strategies and interface with systems, software, hardware and certification teams.

You will execute verification testing on HIL rigs, generate certification evidence, and contribute to verification improvements while ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and ITAR requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in control systems verification, validation, or systems working to ARP4754A standards and supporting EASA certification activities.
• Strong understanding of the verification lifecycle strategies and systems engineering principles.
• Experience working with hardware-based testing environments, test rigs, or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for test development and automation.
• Experience within defence programmes and ITAR-controlled environments.
• Current SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.

• Execute verification testing using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) platforms and test rigs, analysing results and conducting root cause investigations for any failures.

• Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and certification teams while developing Python-based test automation solutions and contributing to technical reviews and verification improvements.

Job Description - The Role

As a Senior Control Systems Verification Engineer, you will work closely with systems, software, hardware, and certification teams to define verification strategies, execute system-level testing, generate certification evidence, and support compliance with aerospace regulatory standards. You will also interface directly with hardware test rigs and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) platforms, ensuring robust verification of complex engine control systems.
