Job summary

Matchtech seeks a Verification & Validation (V&V) and Certification Engineer to support development, certification, and delivery of a sophisticated defence system across UK and international programmes.

You will analyse technical evidence, support verification activities, and demonstrate compliance against system requirements, with strong stakeholder engagement and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Hybrid pattern, security clearance required.

• Experience with Verification & Validation (V&V) processes and methodologies.
• Ability to analyze technical evidence and assess compliance against requirements.
• Experience preparing compliance documentation and certification evidence.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a certification team to capture, review, and assess technical evidence in support of customer deliveries.
• Conduct technical investigations and support formal certification activities.
• Review technical documentation and functional evidence.
• Review and agree Design Verification Plans (DVPs).
• Support design reconciliation activities associated with design change and obsolescence.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams, including Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering.
• Identify verification gaps, track issues, and support corrective actions.
• Prepare and review compliance documentation, verification reports, and certification evidence.
• Drive process improvements through efficient ways of working and automation.

Our Systems Engineering team is expanding to support the continued evolution of a complex, mission-critical defence capability. Working on both domestic and international programmes, you'll play a key role in ensuring the system meets operational, regulatory, and customer requirements while supporting future capability development and export opportunities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Verification & Validation (V&V) and Certification Engineer to support the development, certification, and delivery of a sophisticated defence system across UK and international programmes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing technical evidence, supporting verification and validation activities, and demonstrating compliance against system requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with requirements management, and the ability to assess complex certification evidence.
