Job summary

Reevr Talent Ltd is seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer to deliver bespoke automation projects across industrial applications. You will work with mechanical, electrical and software teams to design, develop, test and commission PLC-based controls and conveyor systems.

The role covers on-site installation, commissioning and fault-finding, with opportunities to advance your technical skills within a project-driven environment and contribute to integrating control systems with wider automation

Qualifications

• Experience in controls, automation or industrial systems integration.
• Knowledge of PLC programming and Siemens or similar platforms.
• Experience with HMI development and industrial control systems.
• Understanding of electrical schematics, sensors and actuators.
• Experience fault-finding and troubleshooting automated machinery.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and system integration.
• Hands-on, practical engineering approach and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Are you a Controls & Automation Engineer looking to work on innovative automation projects, developing and delivering bespoke solutions for a range of industrial applications? We are working with an established engineering business specialising in automated material handling, conveyor systems and integrated automation solutions. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Controls & Automation Engineer to support the development, integration, installation and commissioning of automated systems. This is an excellent opportunity to join a technically focused engineering team, working on varied projects from initial design and development through to on-site installation and commissioning.

The Role

As a Controls & Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering automation projects, working closely with mechanical, electrical and software engineering teams to ensure systems are designed, integrated and commissioned successfully.

Responsibilities will include:

• Developing, programming and supporting PLC-based control systems.
• Supporting the design and integration of automated material handling and conveyor systems.
• Working with control panels, electrical systems, sensors, actuators and industrial equipment.
• Developing and modifying PLC and HMI software to meet project requirements.
• Integrating control systems with wider automation equipment and software platforms.
• Carrying out system testing, fault-finding, debugging and performance optimisation.
• Supporting factory acceptance testing, installation and commissioning at customer sites.
• Diagnosing electrical, software and communication issues across integrated systems.
• Working collaboratively with mechanical, electrical and project engineering teams.
• Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from development through to customer handover.

About You

We are keen to speak with engineers who have experience in controls, automation or industrial systems integration and are looking to develop their technical expertise within a project-based engineering environment.

You will ideally have:

• Experience in a controls, automation or electrical engineering role.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, ideally Siemens or similar platforms.
• Experience with HMI development and industrial control systems.
• An understanding of electrical schematics, sensors, actuators and control hardware.
• Experience fault-finding and troubleshooting automated machinery or industrial equipment.
• An understanding of industrial communication protocols and system integration.
• A practical, hands-on approach to engineering and problem-solving.
• The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• A willingness to support site installation and commissioning when required.
• Experience with conveyor systems, intralogistics, material handling or warehouse automation would be advantageous.
