Motor Control Software Engineer (Senior / Principal)

Location: Warwickshire, UK

Salary: £65-75k + bonus + benefits (negotiable)

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced software engineer to develop motor control software for a broad variety of customers across multiple e-mobility / electric vehicle sectors.

Responsibilities include:

• Taking customer projects from concept to prototype, developing systems from scratch, hardware integration, and lab testing to validated prototypes for customer handover.
• Developing embedded software or model-based software using Matlab / Simulink.
• Understanding customer requirements and developing software architecture.
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and effective communication with clients.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in developing software for traction motors used in e-mobility applications (land, sea, or air).
• Experience with embedded C or model-based software development with Matlab / Simulink.
• Degree or master's in electronics, computer science, automotive engineering, or related fields.
• 8-10 years of relevant post-academic experience.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor juniors.
• Experience with autocode tools like Embedded Coder is a plus.

Additional skills:

• Practical engineering skills in hardware-software integration.
• Experience in various e-mobility domains such as automotive, aerospace, marine, etc.

This role is based onsite three days a week, located in Warwickshire, easily accessible from Birmingham and surrounding areas.
