Job summary

Wynne Consulting seeks an Electrical/Controls Engineer to design and deliver control systems and report to the Controls Manager. You will drive electrical concepts, oversee software deliverables and ensure site acceptance testing.

The role requires practical hands-on capability, strong teamwork, and the ability to mentor less-experienced engineers while meeting tight project milestones. Based in the UK with on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Very good understanding of electrical control systems.
• Mentoring of less-experienced engineers.
• Strong teamwork and proactive start-up mindset.

Responsibilities

• Electrical / controls concept design including FDS, SRS, SLD, network topology, device layout.
• Handover to the Hardware Design team and review of designs produced.
• Software design and production of software/configuration deliverables for PLC, HMI, SCADA, robots and drives.
• Maintenance of the Technical Construction File.
• Factory Acceptance Testing.
• Commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing.
• Compliance with industry regulations, client specifications and internal standards.
• Meet project milestones.
• Promote continuous improvement.

Job description

Summary of Role

• Responsible for the design and delivery of control systems.
• You will be reporting directly to the Controls Manager

Job Responsibilities

• Electrical / controls concept design including Functional Design Specification, Safety Requirements Specification, Single Line Diagram, Network Topology, Device Layout, Cause & Effect Matrix, Safety Block Diagram, etc.
• Handover to the Hardware Design team and review of designs produced.
• Software Design, including Software Design Specification and production of Software / Configuration deliverables for e.g PLC, HMI, SCADA, Robot, Drives etc.
• Maintenance of the Technical Construction File.
• Factory Acceptance Testing.
• Commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing.
• Comply with relevant industry regulations, client specifications, and internal standards.
• Meet project milestones.
• Promote and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Mentoring of less-experienced engineers.
• Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Minimum of BEng / BSE / Level 6 Apprenticeship in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years in a similar role
• Very good understanding of electrical control systems
