Job summary

EnerMech in Aberdeen is seeking a Senior Contracts Specialist to join the Commercial team. You will review, qualify, and negotiate a wide range of contracts to manage risk and ensure compliant contracting.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will draft client qualifications, provide risk reviews, advise executives, and lead negotiations with suppliers and clients across UK/Europe. The role requires at least 5 years in oil, gas or construction contracts, a degree in Quantity Surveying or Law,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a specialised contracts role within oil & gas or construction.
• Experience negotiating key contractual terms, liability, indemnity and warranty.
• Background in commercial and contract drafting and negotiation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Law or similar.
• Experience with LOGIC and NEC contracting forms advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist contract expertise across UK/Europe for EnerMech's service lines.
• Draft contractual wording for qualifications to client contracts in line with EnerMech contracting policies.
• Provide risk reviews and approvals for deviations to contracting position.
• Provide contractual advice to the business including executives and regional teams.
• Present contractual positions and strategies at regional and board level approval meetings.
• Undertake all contract administration tasks including documentation for execution and record maintenance.
• Prepare commercially thoughtful qualifications to contracts aligned with policy and risk factors.
• Engage with internal stakeholders for legal/tax/insurance input as needed.
• Conduct client-facing contract negotiations to secure favorable positions.
• Support project handover and early delivery with operations and project teams.
• Assist Contracts Manager in implementing strategic improvements and policy development.
