Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Principal Commercial Officer (Contracts) to lead end-to-end contract management for UK programmes, shaping bids, negotiating terms and delivering contracts with delivery teams and senior stakeholders. The role sits in a regulated environment with focus on risk, compliance and commercial governance.

Based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, the hybrid role typically requires 2 to 3 days on site. Salary ranges from £50,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial contracts end to end.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build trust with stakeholders.
• Solid grasp of contract terms and ability to apply risk considerations in practice.

Responsibilities

• Run commercial contracts end to end, from bids and negotiations through delivery, changes and close-out.
• Review and draft contract terms, supporting route to contract processes.
• Lead negotiations and ensure alignment with approvals and commercial boundaries.
• Advise project teams on risk, liabilities, amendments and practical contract meaning.
• Maintain accurate contract records in SAP and other systems.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers and partners.
• Support and mentor junior team members where needed.
