Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is partnering with an established law firm to appoint an experienced Contentious Probate Lawyer with litigation rights in Bristol. You will manage a varied caseload and play a central role in growing the firm's contentious probate offering.

Working with Partners and established Private Client and Dispute Resolution teams, you will handle cases from instruction to conclusion, advise clients in person, and contribute to business development and the firm’s market profile.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years' PQE or equivalent experience in contentious probate matters.
• Recent, substantial experience handling contentious probate matters independently.
• Experience running cases from initial instruction through to conclusion.
• Based within reasonable travelling distance of Bristol, Clevedon, Weston-super-Mare or Bridgwater.
• Hold a full, clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of contentious probate, trust and estate disputes from instruction to conclusion.
• Advise clients directly, including face-to-face meetings and commercially sensible advice.
• Work closely with the Wills, Trusts & Estate Administration and Dispute Resolution teams.
• Progress, administer and financially manage your matters.
• Prepare correspondence and legal documents and maintain compliant files.
• Build strong client relationships and keep them informed on progress and costs.
• Support Partners with business development and marketing activity.
• Help develop the firm's Contentious Probate practice and market profile.
