Job summary

Legal Southwest is seeking an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its growing Private Client team in the South West. This senior role offers autonomy to manage a high-quality caseload, including will disputes, contentious trusts and estate matters, with opportunities to help develop the offering.

You will work with senior lawyers across Private Client and Dispute Resolution to deliver practical, client-focused advice and grow the firm’s contentious

Qualifications

• Recent experience handling contentious probate cases.
• Experience taking matters from instruction to conclusion.
• Strong knowledge of contentious trusts and estate disputes.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously within a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload independently from instruction to resolution.
• Provide practical, commercially-minded advice to clients.
• Maintain regular client contact and update on costs and progress.
• Draft correspondence and legal documents accurately.
• Collaborate with Private Client and Dispute Resolution teams.
• Support business development and help grow the Contentious Probate practice.
• Build relationships with clients and professional referrers.
