Job summary

Retail Gazette is seeking an experienced Senior Content Editor to shape our editorial output across news, interviews, features and insight for the UK retail sector. This hands-on role combines sharp news judgment with meticulous editing, content planning and events moderation.

You'll work across digital articles, webinars and live events, develop commercial content while preserving editorial integrity, build a strong industry network, and guide colleagues to maintain Retail Gazette's high

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in journalism, editing or content production.
• Experience in newsroom, media business or B2B publishing.
• Degree in journalism or related discipline preferred but not essential; strong portfolio valued.

Responsibilities

• Plan and produce high-quality editorial content across breaking news, analysis, interviews, features and thought leadership.
• Edit with confidence, ensuring every piece is accurate, engaging, well structured and aligned with standards.
• Help set daily and longer-term content agenda, identifying stories and formats for senior professionals.
• Develop commercial content, including sponsored papers and partner-led features, while maintaining quality.
• Build a strong industry network of retailers, brands, analysts and contributors.
• Support podcasts and multimedia content through research, booking, scripting, interviewing and publication.
• Represent Retail Gazette at events, moderating panels, hosting webinars and live interviews.
• Collaborate across the business with commercial, marketing, events, design and freelance contributors to deliver projects on time.
• Use audience insight to refine coverage and identify opportunities for growth.
• Support and guide colleagues, sharing feedback to maintain editorial voice.
