Job summary

BW Career Site 1 is seeking a Senior Consulting Actuary to join our team in the UK. The role suits actuarial professionals looking to move into consulting, often with a Scheme Actuary certificate or leadership on corporate projects.

There may be a Team Leader element, coordinating Client Consulting, liaising with Partners on priorities, and driving progression towards Partner. We deliver support to trustees and employers on assets, de-risking, longevity, risk management and regulatory changes,

Qualifications

• Fellowship actuary FIA/FAA or equivalent.
• Experience leading a team and excellent people management skills.
• Project management and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and networking skills.
• Ability to take forward new ideas.
• Willingness to communicate and develop junior members of the team.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main contact, providing advice for a range of clients.
• Manage a client team, ensuring work is high quality and within timescales.
• Support Partners in managing client relationships and resolve issues promptly.
• Design and manage surveys and use statistical techniques to analyse quantitative data.
• Attend client meetings and identify ways we can help our clients.
• Use of techniques to establish probability and risk in areas such as pensions.
• Check work of team members for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide advice to clients on objectives while satisfying external parties' requirements.
• Lead portfolio development of Scheme Actuary/Adviser or Corporate appointments.
• Give external talks as required.
• Report new initiatives to Trustees or Corporate Consulting Board.
• Proactively develop marketing initiatives and assist in tenders and pitches.
