Job summary

Infosys is seeking a Senior Consultant to lead aerospace wing structural design in the UK. You will guide the design process, ensure DOA compliance, and deliver robust 3D/2D outputs, BOMs, and design reviews.

The role emphasizes coordination with offshore teams and adherence to DMU/PLM controls. You will drive modification programs (DGs, PDR/CDR), support certifications, and apply knowledge of airworthiness constraints to ensure safe, compliant wing structures across programs such as A320, A330,

Qualifications

• Strong hands on experience in aerospace structural design.
• Proven experience working on aircraft programs (A320, A330, A350, A380, A400M).
• Knowledge of aero design principles and airworthiness constraints.
• Experience with DMU reviews and multi-partner environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Wing Engineering support for the Wing Design Organization.
• Reactively support A400M in-service repairs and ensure DOA compliance.
• Manage modification processes through DGs including PDR and CDR.
• Collaborate with offshore engineering teams and deliver timely guidance.
• Lead structural design and development of wing components per standards.
• Review design outputs (3D, 2D, BOM) for project requirements.
• Provide expertise on structures, materials, stress sizing, and certification constraints.
• Support design process improvements and cost reduction efforts.
• Drive issue resolution with cross-functional teams (stress, manufacturing, quality).
• Ensure adherence to DMU, PLM, and configuration control processes.
• Prepare and deliver design reviews (Maturity, PDR, CDR, DFM).
• Manage engineering data and deliverables per QA requirements.
• Support digital continuity and continuous improvement in design/communication.

Job Description

• Provide comprehensive Wing Engineering support as part of the overall Wing Design Organization (IAW)
• Provide reactive support for A400M daily in-service repairs and ensure adherence to aeroplane Design Organization Approval (DOA) requirements and export control regulations.
• Ability to manage modification processes through Decision Gates (DG) including Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR).
• Collaborate closely with the offshore engineering team, ensuring clear technical communication, timely guidance, and smooth execution of deliverables.
• Lead and support the structural design and development of primary aerospace wing components in accordance with relevant processes, methods, and standards.
• Solid understanding of aerospace design principles, airworthiness constraints, and manufacturing processes.
• Review and validate design outputs such as 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bill Of Material to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Provide technical expertise on structures, materials, stress sizing, manufacturing considerations, and certification constraints.
• Providing support to other general design activities, e.g. Process improvements, cost reduction etc.
• Drive issue resolution by interfacing with cross functional teams (stress, manufacturing, quality, configuration management, etc.).
• Ensure adherence to DMU, PLM, and configuration control processes.
• Prepare and deliver design reviews (Maturity phases, PDR, CDR, DFM).
• Manage engineering data, documentation, and deliverables in compliance with quality and configuration requirements.
• Support digital continuity initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement in design and communication processes.

Skillset

• Understanding of aerospace design principles and airworthiness requirements.
• Knowledge of metallic and composite design principles.
• Knowledge of processes and procedures relating to design (RSDP, SIDP, AP, ABD, AIPI, AIPS, etc..).
• Experience of using DocMaster, Airnavx etc
• Aeroplane Design Signatory experience (Checker/approver).
• Valid training certificates in VPM and PASS SSI.
• Experience in DMU reviews, Interface Point Management and multi partner environments.
• Knowledge of MOD, DQN and RDR.
