Job summary

Qualifications

• GMC registration with licence to practise is required.
• MRCP or overseas equivalent SCE in Medical Oncology.
• Entry on Specialist Register or expect within six months.
• MD or PhD is desirable; significant research experience preferred.
• Relevant clinical experience in oncology is essential.
• Postgraduate teaching qualification and teaching experience are desirable.
• Experience supervising junior doctors and conducting audits is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical opinion on emergency and elective issues in Urology and Head & Neck oncology.
• Take full and independent responsibility for patient clinical care.
• Contribute to service development, governance, and efficient running of the department.
• Organise and supervise audits; teach and supervise SpRs/postgraduate researchers.
• Develop sub-specialty interests; participate in teaching, research, and innovation.
