Job summary

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust in Romford is seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist to join the Digestive Diseases Centre. The role covers inpatient and outpatient care, diagnostic/therapeutic endoscopy, and cross-site duties between Queen's Hospital and King George Hospital.

Applicants should have MRCP/FRCS, GMC registration, CCT in Gastroenterology, and MD, with involvement in postgraduate training. The post supports flexible working within a dynamic Trust.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Higher professional qualification MRCP or FRCS.
• CCT in Gastroenterology or equivalent specialist accreditation/eligibility.
• Higher research degree – MD(Res), MD or equivalent.
• Experience of managing and supporting postgraduate medical training.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Emergency Gastroenterology Service with consultant-led assessment and management.
• Provide cross-site care across Queen's Hospital and King George Hospital.
• Support safe admission avoidance, early discharge and prompt access to investigations.
• Contribute to teaching, governance, audit and service development.
