What will your essential responsibilities include?

1. Carry out technical risk analysis of construction risks and natural catastrophe events inherent in the construction of large projects for Underwriting, Claims, and external clients.
2. Support and advise underwriters to better understand the risks they write and to reduce the frequency and likelihood of claims for AXA XL.
3. Collaborate with the Global Construction Risk Consulting team as well as industry experts across other lines of business such as Property, Energy, Machinery Breakdown, and Marine.
4. Conduct loss prevention surveys on-site, including prospects, underwritten construction project visits, and post-claim surveys.
5. Deliver survey reports, risk gradings, and loss estimate scenarios: prepare detailed loss prevention reports following visits.
6. Participate in Underwriting tender bids.
7. Provide on-demand technical assistance for customers.
8. Contribute to the development of internal technical procedures and standards with the help of the AXA XL RC technical board.
9. Contribute to the training and continuous development of AXA XL Risk Consulting engineers.

You will report to the Head of Risk Consulting, UK.

We’re looking for someone with these abilities and skills:

1. Engineering background with extensive experience in construction (contractor, designer, loss adjuster, or external checker).
2. Specialist in Construction Risks with knowledge of UK standards (Eurocodes, Building Regulations).
3. Excellent communicator, capable of engaging with all levels within client organizations.
4. Strong analytical skills for risk assessments using plans, specifications, and site visits.
5. Excellent report writing capabilities.
6. A degree in construction or civil engineering is highly beneficial.
7. Experience in civils, industrial, or renewable energy fields is an advantage.
8. Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of French or other languages is a plus.
