Senior Energy Transition Risk Consultant

London, UK – also open to other UK locations

A key initiative is to develop a compelling Energy Transition proposition, enhancing our product and service expertise to support clients on their energy transition journey.

With investment from AXA Group, we seek an experienced Energy Transition Risk Consultant to work closely with the Risk Consulting Energy Transition Leader and the Global Head of Energy Transition. This role involves developing AXA XL’s global Energy Transition strategy to provide clients and brokers with products and services related to renewables, carbon capture and storage, carbon offsetting, and robust risk consulting capabilities.

As a Senior Energy Transition Risk Consultant, you will deliver outstanding risk consulting services to underwriters and clients, supporting the Global Energy Transition Leader to build a strong market and client profile.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  1. Advising underwriters on industry-specific risks and supporting clients in implementing their carbon emission reduction strategies.
  2. Collaborating with the engineering team supporting AXA XL’s energy portfolio.
  3. Meeting with industry stakeholders to discuss risk solutions and improve clients’ energy transition risks.
  4. Visiting client sites to evaluate risks and reporting findings to underwriting and clients.
  5. Working with AXA XL’s Energy Engineers and Underwriters globally to provide insights on industry trends and technical issues.
  6. Assisting the underwriting team in enhancing risk knowledge, selecting profitable clients, and reducing losses.
  7. Ensuring compliance with technical rules and guidelines.
  8. Sharing expertise with colleagues interested in energy transition.
  9. Supporting the claims team with industry knowledge to better understand losses.
  10. Reporting to the local Risk Consulting Team Leader and the UK-based Energy Transition Leader.
Share your talent

We seek someone with:

  • A degree in energy engineering, chemical, process, or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in the energy industry, with familiarity in renewable energy technologies (wind, solar, batteries), fossil fuels, oil & gas, or risk consulting in related fields.
  • Interest in energy transition and emerging technologies like Hydrogen, Biofuels, CCS.
  • Ability to work independently, curiosity, motivation, relationship skills, and teamwork.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including abroad.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
