Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our Birmingham team. You will develop and monitor construction programmes, coordinate procurement and resources, and liaise with bid directors and delivery teams to drive project success.

You will need strong P6 and Asta PowerProject skills, excellent IT literacy, and a collaborative mind-set to work across high-value projects. Travel to tender and site duties may be required.

Qualifications

• Construction related qualification required.
• Demonstrate relevant previous experience in Building/Construction.
• Good IT knowledge – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• High attention to detail when reviewing and compiling programme solutions.
• Strong experience with P6 programming.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player with the ability to work on your own initiative.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, accurate and reliable programme data.
• Develop and communicate planning intent and proposed solutions using Asta PowerProject.
• Present planned intent and logic clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop project programmes, method statements and logistics plans during bid and delivery phases.
• Keep records of assumptions and constraints in project programmes and schedules.
• Develop procurement schedules from project programmes.
• Review drawings/specifications to build robust programme solutions.
• Review subcontractor programmes and report on variances and progress.
• Understand contractual obligations and changes impact on programmes.
• Develop and monitor short-term programmes with the delivery team.
• Present impact of schedule slippage and critical path analyses.
• Measure progress and reporting against targets.
• Support and develop other planning department team members.
• Undertake other duties as required by management.
