Job summary

Assystem is seeking an experienced Planner/Senior Planner to deliver robust construction programmes for major projects in the UK. You will develop, update, and report on detailed schedules using ASTA Powerproject, ensuring alignment with NEC contracts and client milestones.

You will engage with project managers, design and site teams, controlling progress, risks, and changes while providing insightful analysis and clear reporting to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner in construction or build sectors.
• Advanced proficiency in ASTA Powerproject.
• Strong working knowledge and practical experience of NEC Contracts.
• Experience on large-scale build, commercial, residential, infrastructure, or mixed-use projects.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and project controls.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong reporting and presentation abilities.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction programmes using ASTA Powerproject.
• Produce baseline programmes, progress updates, recovery programmes, and look-ahead schedules.
• Collaborate with project managers, commercial teams, design teams, and site management to ensure programme alignment and delivery.
• Monitor project progress and identify risks, delays, and opportunities for programme improvement.
• Carry out critical path analysis and provide mitigation strategies where required.
• Support tender planning and pre-construction activities, including sequencing and methodology reviews.
• Prepare and present programme reports for internal and client meetings.
• Ensure programmes comply with contract requirements, milestones, and reporting obligations.
• Manage change control and assess programme impacts associated with variations and compensation events.
• Support claims preparation and extension of time assessments under NEC contracts.
