Job summary

MacStaff Limited seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead delivery on the Hinkley Point C project near Bridgwater, Somerset. You will coordinate day-to-day construction activities, manage subcontractors and ensure works meet programme, safety and quality standards.

You will bring proven site leadership on major infrastructure or civil projects, and you will benefit from an additional project uplift and lodging allowance on eligible assignments, with an indicative total package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager.
• Background in major construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and construction disciplines.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, programmes and site logistics.
• Excellent knowledge of UK construction health and safety requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction specifications.
• Experience monitoring productivity, quality, resources and programme performance.
• Confident leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project delivery.
• Experience coordinating mechanical and electrical installations; nuclear or highly regulated projects advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day construction operations across complex engineering work packages.
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, site personnel and construction resources.
• Planning construction activities with project managers, engineers and delivery teams.
• Monitoring progress against programmes and resolving potential delays.
• Managing site logistics, access, materials, equipment and work sequencing.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures, RAMS, permits and site regulations.
• Coordinating civil, mechanical, electrical and associated construction disciplines.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Managing subcontractor performance, quality and productivity.
• Attending coordination meetings and reporting progress, risks and priorities.
• Identifying practical solutions to site challenges and construction interfaces.
• Supporting project delivery from mobilisation through installation, completion and handover.
