Job summary

Size Group is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to join our Country Houses team on a permanent basis. You will provide strategic leadership, overseeing health and safety, programme management, construction methods, and quality across luxury projects, coordinating with directors, consultants, clients and site teams to deliver exceptional results.

You will mentor Construction Managers, Site Managers, Graduates and Trainees while driving best practice, risk mitigation and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Extensive structural and fit-out delivery experience in luxury residential, heritage or bespoke construction.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop site/project teams.
• Strong commercial awareness: budgets, change, risk and contracts.
• Experience mentoring Construction Managers, Site Managers, Graduates and Trainees.
• CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid qualifications are essential.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior operational lead on a prestigious project with strategic oversight.

The Role

As a Senior Construction Manager, you will act as the senior operational lead on one of our most prestigious projects, providing strategic oversight, supporting the project team, and delivering consistently high standards.

You will oversee all aspects of the project, including health and safety, programme management, construction methodology, quality assurance, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, and operational performance.

Working closely with directors, consultants, clients, and site teams, you will provide strategic leadership across multiple project phases, ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, and to the exceptional standards expected by our clients.

You will drive collaboration across the wider business, champion best practice, and proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, mitigate risk, and maximise project success.

Additionally, you will play a key role in developing our future talent, providing leadership and mentorship to Construction Managers, Site Managers, Graduates, and Trainees whilst helping to strengthen operational excellence across the business.

About You

To be considered as a Senior Construction Manager, you will need to demonstrate:

• Qualifications appropriate to the role
• Extensive structural and fit-out delivery experience, ideally gained within complex luxury residential, heritage or bespoke construction environments
• Exceptional knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and project delivery within the luxury property sector
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing site and project teams
• Strong commercial awareness, including understanding project budgets, change management, risk, and contractual obligations
• Extensive knowledge of programme development, management, and recovery planning
• Ability to identify project risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies
• Outstanding leadership skills, providing clear direction whilst fostering a collaborative team environment
• Significant experience managing client, consultant, and stakeholder relationships at a senior level
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across all levels of the business
• Extensive knowledge of safe systems of work and a demonstrable commitment to health and safety excellence
• The ability to oversee and coordinate multiple workstreams and project teams simultaneously
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and modern methods of construction
• Strong IT competency, including Microsoft Office and construction planning software
• Experience mentoring and developing Construction Managers, Site Managers, Graduates, and Trainees
• The ability to contribute strategically to business objectives and support future project opportunities
• CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid qualifications (essential)
