Job summary

National Grid is looking for an experienced Construction HSE Advisor to support EGL3 delivery and strengthen safety culture across major construction activities. You will work with operational teams, contractors and JV partners to provide expert guidance and ensure safe outcomes.

The role is hybrid with ~two days per week at the Walpole, Norfolk site and regular travel across the Lincolnshire region. NEBOSH General and Construction Certificates are required, with a UK driving licence essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a construction health, safety and environment role.
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM 2015.
• Proven track record as a trusted HSE advisor with interface management.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and JV partners on safety.
• Auditing, incident investigation and root-cause analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of HSE strategy across projects and JV partners.
• Lead onsite HSE tours, inspections and assurance activities.
• Provide CDM advice to project teams and JV partners.
• Promote HSE best practice and drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to tender and contract award processes with HSE input.
• Investigate accidents, identify root causes and share lessons learned.
• Coach and engage employees and contractors to strengthen safety culture.
