Job summary

Vickerstock, in partnership with a leading UK construction contractor, is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for projects in the Bristol area. The role focuses on delivering practical H&S guidance, site inspections and RAMS reviews to maintain high safety standards and embed best practice across project teams.

The ideal candidate has construction H&S experience, UK qualifications (NEBOSH/NCRQ or equivalent), valid CSCS, and strong communication skills to influence stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience as Health & Safety Advisor in construction.
• UK H&S qualification (NEBOSH/NCRQ or equivalent).
• Knowledge of current UK H&S legislation.
• Experience inspecting sites and reviewing contractor H&S docs.
• Proven accident/incident investigation experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influence.
• Team player with project-wide collaboration.
• Strong IT skills; CSCS card.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical H&S advice to project and site teams.
• Promote a positive H&S culture across employees, contractors and subcontractors.
• Carry out regular site inspections and ensure policies are implemented.
• Review RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Monitor site activities for compliance with legislation and standards.
• Support development and implementation of H&S strategies and procedures.
• Lead and support H&S initiatives across projects.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Deliver and support H&S training for managers, employees and site teams.
• Collaborate with project management and subcontractors to identify risks and drive improvement.
