Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in South East London is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial function within a growing construction business. The role focuses on shaping strategy, improving governance, and delivering strong financial performance in a senior leadership capacity.

Reporting to the Directors, you will manage contract administration, risk, and reporting while building relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in senior commercial management within construction.
• Strong financial acumen with ability to analyse performance.
• Extensive experience of contract management and negotiations.
• In-depth knowledge of construction contracts and dispute resolution.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strategic and solutions-focused approach to challenges.
• Experience leading and developing commercial teams.
• RICS membership or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing the commercial strategy and associated reporting.
• Providing commercial leadership and input throughout the tender and negotiation process.
• Taking overall responsibility for contract management and administration.
• Managing commercial risk and ensuring contractual obligations are understood and maintained.
• Overseeing supply chain management and commercial administration.
• Driving effective cost capture, cost control and financial reporting.
• Establishing and maintaining robust commercial procedures, systems and reporting.
• Ensuring accurate and effective commercial records and document control.
• Providing commercial advice and guidance to the Directors and wider leadership team.
• Building and growing the Commercial team as the business develops.
