Job summary

The American Society of Civil Engineers is seeking a Principal Engineer - Support Engineering (Configuration Control) to establish and govern configuration baselines across submarine engineering programmes. You will collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Customers and Suppliers to ensure safe, compliant delivery under effective change control.

Qualifications

• Understanding of engineering lifecycles and configuration management principles.
• Knowledge of asset hierarchies and product structures (WBS, PBS, BOM).
• Experience managing baselines, design changes, and technical documentation in complex projects.
• Familiarity with industry standards and governance processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Configuration Management Plans and baselines.
• Manage and govern configuration changes with traceability.
• Monitor configuration status and support corrective actions.
• Ensure configuration control across projects and suppliers.
• Provide status reporting and support design reviews and lifecycle management.
• Promote best practices in configuration management across teams.
• Support planning, estimating, and delivery related to configuration control.
