Job summary

ALTEN, a global engineering and technology consultancy, is seeking a Configuration Engineer for a major infrastructure project. You will be the custodian of engineering data, manage design changes, maintain configuration records, and coordinate across engineering teams to keep information accurate and traceable.

You don't need prior Configuration Management experience; we are looking for a technical background, strong communication, attention to detail, and a passion for ensuring things are done

Qualifications

• 2–4 years' experience in an engineering/technical/project environment.
• Degree in Engineering, Science or related technical discipline.
• Strong organisational and coordination abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Methodical, detail-oriented and process-driven.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and delivery of Configuration Management processes across the project.
• Act as a key contact for engineering teams on configuration and change control activities.
• Coordinate engineering changes and ensure actions are completed.
• Work with stakeholders to resolve technical queries and open points.
• Maintain configuration records and support configuration assurance activities.
• Monitor and steer configuration-related actions to ensure project requirements are met.
• Support design handover activities and maintain configuration control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of efficient, data-driven ways of working.
