Lantara is looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to own product and regulatory compliance for UK/EU markets from its London base. You will sign off on technical files, review Declarations of Conformity, and help build the compliance function while advising clients with solid regulatory judgment.

Reporting to the CEO, you will coordinate with labs, authorities and marketplaces, implement GPSR, UKCA/CE, food information rules and EPR/WEEE obligations, and guide cross-category compliance as

• 3+ years in product compliance, regulatory affairs, quality or a similar technical role covering the UK and/or EU.
• Ability to read and interpret product legislation (GB/EU GPSR, UKCA/CE, food labelling).
• Experience working with labeling, Declarations of Conformity and test reports.

Lantara gets international brands UK and EU compliant. We are a compliance-first, execution-led partner for ecommerce brands selling into the UK and EU. Our clients sell food, food supplements, pet food, electronics, toys and games, apparel, Class I medical devices and general consumer goods.

• Product compliance: UKCA and CE marking, technical files, labelling
• UK and EU Responsible Person (GPSR) and Food Business Operator services
• VAT registration and Making Tax Digital
• Packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (pEPR)

This is a hands-on founding role where you will be the technical authority behind compliance decisions. You will review files and labels yourself, help build the compliance function and work closely with the CEO on client assessment calls, using your technical judgement to build commercial trust with clients.

Reporting directly to the CEO you will have real influence on how Lantara runs it's compliance department.

What you'll own

• Own the technical sign-off for UK and EU Responsible Person and Food Business Operator appointments
• Review technical files, Declarations of Conformity, test reports and safety information before Lantara accepts a product
• Lead Label Reviews and readiness checks
• Apply GPSR, UKCA/CE frameworks (LVD, EMC, RoHS, Toy Safety), food information and food supplement rules to real product

Risk and authority liaison

• Run client due diligence and risk assessment before any RP or FBO appointment
• Act as the first point of contact for Trading Standards, OPSS, local authorities and EU market surveillance bodies
• Manage product safety incidents, corrective actions and recalls, including authority notifications
• Handle marketplace compliance escalations, such as Amazon product compliance requests

Building the function

• Advance the processes, checklists and templates that let Lantara scale without losing quality
• Monitor UK and EU regulatory change and turn it into client guidance and Lantara's monthly compliance update
• Manage specialist partners, including test labs, notified bodies and category specialists
• Recruit and lead the compliance team as Lantara grows

Commercial support

• Join assessment calls to give technical answers prospects can trust
• Contribute expert content that builds Lantara's credibility with compliance buyers

Ideal candidate / What you'll bring

• Compliance experience: 3+ years in product compliance, regulatory affairs, quality or a similar technical role covering the UK and/or EU.
• Multi-category knowledge: technical depth in more than one product category, and you can get up to speed on new ones quickly.
• Applied regulation: you can read and interpret product legislation, such as GB and EU general product safety rules (including EU GPSR 2023/988), UKCA/CE conformity and food labelling rules, and apply it to real products.
• Document judgement: you can read technical files, test reports and Declarations of Conformity and judge whether they support a product.
• Clear communication: you can explain regulation to international brand owners without jargon.
• Right to work: full right to work in the UK.
• Hands-on regulatory experience in food or food supplements, including labelling under the Food Information to Consumers rules
• Technical degree: food science, chemistry, engineering or similar
• Background in Trading Standards, a test house, a notified body or a marketplace compliance team
• Experience acting as, or supporting, a Responsible Person, Authorised Representative or FBO
• Ecommerce exposure, especially Amazon product compliance
• Knowledge of packaging EPR and WEEE or battery obligations
