Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Compliance Manager to join our dedicated and supportive team. This is a great job for an experienced individual with strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex matters simply!

A bit about the job:

The key purpose of this role is to provide advice to local leaders (within all three lines of defence) on existing and upcoming regulatory and conduct risk regulation and on the practical implications of this regulation. This advice will provide leaders with the understanding and insight they need to make the best decisions for our customers and Aviva. The role holder will work collaboratively through a risk business partner model but be directive where regulatory requirements are explicit.

Additionally, you will:
  1. Lead risk and conduct challenge and input into significant product and distribution developments (both new and existing), influencing the direction and helping Aviva demonstrate good outcomes for customers.
  2. Oversee material Conduct Risk events and remediation activities where appropriate.
  3. Proactively use conduct risk data to identify risks for UK General Insurance, providing recommendations and advice on mitigation strategies.
  4. Prepare reports for local Committees, management, Group, and other MBUs as necessary. Lead effective relationships with the local Executive and Senior Management.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
  1. Previous experience as a compliance manager within General Insurance, Life Insurance, or Banking.
  2. Expert knowledge of UK regulatory expectations applicable to the business area.
  3. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the 1st line of defence and senior management, being seen as a credible and trusted adviser.
  4. FCA experience with conduct regulation, demonstrating strong judgment to identify key issues and guide others.
  5. High personal and professional integrity, credibility, and respect from key business partners.

  • Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 (National), £70,000 - £75,000 (London), depending on skills and experience.
